The map treasure is free
The maps cover large parts of Sweden and are in many cases so well-made and richly decorated that it is tempting to call them pure artworks. Unsurprisingly, they are often given away as gifts.
It is free to view the maps and we promise that you will find something of interest when you view them. If you want, you can also save them to your computer in various formats or print them.
Which dossiers and maps do we show?
In the service we only show material up until 1928 from Lantmäteriet’s archive. The restriction of material is based on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which does not allow handling/registration of information which can directly or indirectly be connected to a physical person still alive. If you want access to modern cadastral dossiers, you are welcome to contact our customer center.
In the Swedish National Mapping Authority’s archive, you can view general maps which stretch until the 1970s. Lantmäteriet has chosen to withdraw copyright claims for the maps that are available in the Swedish National Mapping Authority’s archive.
